Introduction to Nålbinding
Sunday, April 19th 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Materials (yarn and needle) included
Nålbinding is an ancient fiber craft which uses a large one eyed needle to create fabric by tying knots gauged around the thumb. Learn the Oslo stitch and make either a mug rug or a cowl.
We’ll cover history and terminology, the basic start, Finnish 1+1 F1 (Oslo) stitch working in the round, joining lengths of yarn, and how to cut and finish to create a flat piece. Yarn and needles will be provided, along with a pattern for a Möbius scarf for a suggested next project.
Class cancellations must be made 10 days in advance in order to get a 50% refund. Cancellations after that will get no refund. Our instructors require a minimum number of students to teach a class and they schedule their time accordingly. We keep class sizes small so that students get personalized attention. Thank you for your understanding.
