Our Art batts have a base of alpaca from Blazing Star Ranch. They include silks, sparkle, accents from merino wool, some soy silk or angora. The alpaca is dyed and blended by FiberTraveler, Karey Grant. 

Batts are often easier to spin than commercial roving or top. The fibers are not aligned, so they "grab" much easier. They can also include fibers of various lengths. The majority of what we have are considered "art batts" because they have various fibers with individual character.
